"ascertain the TRUTH"? Is it April 1 again? Did I wake up this morning in Bizzaroworld? (well, every day has been like Bizzaroworld in Bush's America)

I haven't bothered to read the story yet, but holy shit, that one line stopped me dead in my tracks.
